Ircinia campana

(Lamarck 1814)
Usually vase shaped, often with an irregular rim. This is not like the other Ircinia species shown here.

It has many large apertures on the inside – this may be regarded as being an extreme version of those Ircinia which have clumps of apertures clustered together in depressions. The outer surface is covered, as in other members of the genus, with numerous small conical lumps.

Pale in colour, sometimes brownish.
