Aplysina cauliformis A(Carter 1882)
A rope sponge, forming large tangled masses over 1 m across and high, and always mauve or purple.

The exhalent pores are arranged in rows aligned along the branches, and have raised thin rims.

N.B. S. Zea states the two forms named here as A and B are two different species, though the names have not yet been confirmed.
